Ship Performance Monitoring System

The PIM OBU logs and displays various data of the vessels, namely nautical data, fuel consumption data and engine data obtained from different sensors in real time. It provides detailed information about the actual ships performance.

In addition to that, the PIM-OBU compares the fuel comsumption with the data of the charter party. All data can be easily transfered to shipowners’ office for further analysis and replay.

Data Input

  • serial interface NMEA (e.g. Draft, Speedlog, GPS)
  • Flowmeter (pulses) (e.g. ME, AE, Boiler)
  • analog inputs 4-20 mA (e.g. RPM, Thrust, Torque, Shaftpower)
  • manually input (displacement, draft, fuel, cost)
  • ModBus (Automation)
  • Temperatures (Fuel Temperatures)

How does EEXI affect your fleet daily operation?

How can fleet management benefit from a vessel performance monitoring system?

How does useful & high quality data contribute to your fleet?

What if existing EEXI becomes mandatory?

One of the most effective ways to ensure conformity and efficiency is via continuous ship performance monitoring.

      EEXI Vessel Performance

This can be done via 2 ways:

      A)     Physical Modification

      B)      Data Collection & Analysis

Besides keeping the hull and propeller clean and well-maintained (eg. keep barnacles off the propeller), data logger hardware should be installed (eg. VEINLAND’s PIM Performance Indicator Monitor) to collect, display and export useful signals and data from flowmeters, sensors and shaft power meters.

Consumption, nautical and weather data as well as those from main or auxiliary engines (power, RPM, Temperature, etc.) shall be evaluated regularly and used to set KPIs to make fleet management even more efficient and cost-saving!
